Sizzling salsa is delivered by the vocal team of Josue A Cruz, Juan Carlos Rollan, Henderson Olivares and Angel D. Garcia as the sing and give choral support to a percolating rhythm team of Stan Piper/b, Juan Pablo Salvat/cong, Jjah Pierre/bongo and Milan Alygood/timbales along with a punctuated horn team of Mike Emmert/bs-fl, Bryant Patterson/tb, Steve Strawley/tp and Rollan on tenor.
Strawleys horn is bright and upbeat on “Los Bravos” and “Verano” while romantic when muted with Emmert’s flute on “Mal Mentira”. The sax section is thick and palpable on the Afro Cuban “Guerra Guerra” and “Los Bravos” while Cruz’s voice filled with passion throughout.
