Pianist Andrea Petrity leads a swinging trio of bassist Stefano Valdo and drummer Robin Tufts through and impressive set of originals and a clever cover. The latter, a rich take of the 60s classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love” is both dreamy and impressive. Petrity shows her bop bonafides on the bouncy “Conversations In My Head” and the upbeat and optimistic “Bop Song” while giving a calypso lilt with the gents on “Untilted Two” and lilting with Valdo on “He Said, She Said”. Her title track shows a rich melodic idea, with hints of Cole Porter on the reflective “Falling Out Of Love.” Strong on ivories and with pen.
