Guitarist Joshua Gerowitz leads a tentet through a decalogue of tunes recorded at Citrus College. What you get here are a collection of avant garde collection of vocal wisps and operatic voices gone wild teamed with Louis Lopez’s trumpet as on “Akasha,” rambling bass from David Tranchina and searing trumpet. Guitar feedback and shrill vices from Sharon Chohi Kim, Kathryn Shuman and Micaela Tobin throughout as on the shrill “HBI (Gom Jabbar)” and demonic shrieks and sounds that snap crackle and pop for “HBI (Sirens of Titan).” Somewhere there is a story involved, but I’m bringing cloves of garlic just to protect myself for this journey.
