The Fastball band features the trio Miles Zuniga/g-voc, Tony Scalzo/voc-g and Joey Shuffield/dr who are teamed with Bruce Hughes/b, Andy Streck/dr-key and a collection of guests on this eleven song album. The songs are mostly 70s-influenced rockers, with earnest voices on the upbeat “Friend Or Foe,” and The Girl You Pretended To Be,” a kind of 80s New Wave-ish “Doesn’t It Make You Feel Small” and “All Gone Fuzzy” and some lonely ballads such as “I Go South.” The band is tight, usually with some dark harmonies. Indie sounds dependent on the past.
