If you’re idea of “real” country music is not twangy aging rock artists, but real clean two stepping sounds like Don Gibson or Ray Price, then Jason James is your man. You’ve got a nice Cajun shuffle with Braun’s fiddle on “Cry On The Bayou” while Queen’s steel guitar cries on “Simply Divine.” James gives a Western Swing to “We’re Gonna Honky Tonk Tonight” and they boogie hard on “Move A Little Closer.” Vintage C&W strings are rich on the easy title track, and the ballads such as “Achin’ Takin’ Place” will put a tear in your beer. Get him on the bus to LA, and re-open the Palomino!
