Can political campaigns from the progressive branch of the Democratic party be an inspiration for a movie soundtrack? Why not? Just goes to show unworkable policies can coincide with successful sounds. The team of Tyler Wood/p-key, Ryan Blotnick/g-key-perc, Sam Sadifursky/cl, Jonathan Talbott/vi, Jane Scarpantoni/cel, Garo Yellin/cel, Scott Petito/b and Chris Bear/dr mix and match to create lovely poetic moods such as on the guitar laden title track, the dainty “Neglected Bronx” and the dreamy “Election Day.” Rich strings coax out “How to Beat the Machine” and rich keyboard concepts are produced for the Blue Dog “Joe Manchin” while “DC” is dominated by synth ambience. While the politics may be on the fringe, the music is acceptable for blue and red states of mind.
