Fleming’s guitar riffs and wah wahing stings team with a funky clavinet for a Dee’s Joy of Cooking hip “Take oof The Crown” while the STAXY horns get hip on with Flemings rich singing on “Away With You.” A frantic paced AWB-ish “Are You Feeling It” melds with an Age of Aquarius themed and mooded “Summer” aided by Spencer’s warm horn, while a Woodstock fest teams soul and rap on the long jame “Long Way From Home.” What? No “Them Changes”?
Vocalist Tanika Charles takes you back to the vintage days of Motown on this ear friendly release. She’s got her oohs and aahs down to a soulful perfection on serene tunes like “Tell Me Something” whle she’s doo woppy for “Dans Les Nuages.” Classic sounds a la The Supremes and Temptations get you doing the jerk on “Love Overdue” and the uptempo “Upside Down.’ Her more romantic atmosphere works well on “Since You’ve Been Gone” and she works vulnerability convincingly for the luscious ballad “Always Restless. Modern Nostalgia.
