With a Coptic cross in his hands and a prayer in his heart, Rocky Dawuni sings passionately on this soulful mix of reggae and Eastern African pulses. Some of the tunes mix folksy guitar forms, as on the title track and the lilting “Modern Man” while synth reggae forms saunter on “Mr. Jones” the easy “Elevation” and the calypso’d “Wickedest Sound.” Some rich trumpet from Josiel Perez adds passion to “Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawi” and the team gets into an R&B mood for “Turn It Up” and “Thank You Lord.” Rocky Shares vocals in a VOX form on the Caribbean “Sunshine Day” and has fun on the upbeat “Let’s Go.” A nice plate of message and mirth.
