Usually known for flamenco-styled acoustic music, Lawson Rollins branches out by adding extra sounds and musicians to his repertoire. While he himself plays various types of guitars, he also adds keyboards, programmed drums and percussion to his arsenal, as well as bringing in violinist Mads Tolling, flutist Guillermo Martinez and Stephen Duros’s keyboards and guitars along with production talents.
What results is 25, count ‘em, 25 short and concise pieces of a wide range of moods. Lawson’s acoustic strings are still pretty and flowing as on “Innocence,” but with extra strings, there is a richnes to pieces like “Endless” and rich textures along with droplets of string on “Memories.” Electric guitar flows with piano on “Apparition” and lots of synth landscapes add dimensions on “Undercurrent” and “Corruption.” While “Mystic” is a rich and pretty delight.” You don’t need to watch the movie to enjoy this soundtrack.
