One of the true guitar legends, Arlen Roth celebrates the legendary Fender Telecaster by bringing together some of his favorite 6 stringers, with the breadth, width and range of this legendary axe being shown in all of its glory.
Roth serves as a member of the foundation band with Tommy MacDonald/b, Tom Hambridge-Lee Falco/dr and Billy Panda/ag serving up wonderful and swinging boogie backbeats and grooves. Whether the flavor is a bit countrified with contributions by Brad Paisley (“Bunky”), Western Swingin’ with Vince Gill (“Satisfied Mind” and Albert Lee (“Mrs. Robinson”) or gritty with Joe Bonamassa (“Joe’s Blues”), you get some rich and irresistible licks flying around. Most fun is when STAX legend Steve Cropper plays and sings on “White Lightning” and Jerry Donohue steps up for a take of Chuck Berry’s “Promised Land.” There isn’t a moment when the toes aren’t tapping to this shoot out at OK Corral.
