The team of David Torn on electric guitar and live looping, Stephan Thelan and Bernhard Wagner on tritone guitars, Christian Kuntner on tritone bass and Manuel Pasquinelli on drums get together for a concert at Zurich’s Moods Jazz Club back in May of 2018. The focus is on rich and dark moods, with spacy moods mixed with dramatic drumming and thunderous bass on “Twofold Covering” and the heavy hitting metalica of “Lookface!”. The guitars chime on the mercybeat of “Red Shift” with crying strings in lead, with the rhythm team creating a 5/4 dance that builds up on the relentlessly pulsating “Tromso” and delicate droplets forming a rich melody for “Waves and Particles.” Part Robert Fripp, part Blue Oyster Cult.
