Pianist and composer Andy Milne mixes music with aspects of healing on this holistic album of sound and homeopathy. His Dapp Theory band of Aaron Kruziki/reeds, John Moon/voc-poetry, Christopher Tordini/b and Kenny Grohowski/dr are teamed with guests including cellists Christopher Hoffman and Jody Redhage and vocalist La Tanya Hall, creating moods to reflect the intersections of song and healing.
Hall and Moon speak reflective messages on “Surge and Splender” and the free form “Three Way Mirror” with the cellos creating deep reflections for Hall’s support on “Capturing the Castle.” A bit of edginess floats to the surface as guest trumpeter Ralph Alessi joins with Kruziki on “Scotopia” while the ambient “Ancestree” gives Kruziki a chance to create some sonic musings and Ben Monder glisens on “Luminescence.” Intriguing collection of sounds and ideas that will make for increasing discernment on what we should listen to for spiritual and physical growth.
