Armed with Hammond B3 and voice, Mike Bogle carves out a trio with Richard McLure/g and Ivan Torres/dr through a simmering handful of burners. The team shows its fun chops on a hard hitting and fun whirlwind of “Cherokee” before Bogle gives a husky rap on the bluesy medley “Splanky/Route 66.” McLure is gracious and thoughtful on “Ralph’s Piano Waltz” and bounces with Torres on “On the Street Where You Live.” The closing take of “Walkin’ is an ominously voiced stroll, but the entire album is an organ grinder’s swing.
