John Akapo: Paradise Blues

Folksy and casual atmospheres are delivered by troubadour John Akapo. Sometimes singing, sometimes strumming or playing harp, but always telling a story, he sits on the back porch and gives a rural rasp to “Ramblin’ On My Mind” and takes you to the delta on a swampy groover “I Can’t Be Satisfied.” Rural moods are felt on the lazy “Don’t Believe Me” and avuncular “Big Road Blues” and he knows how to spin a yarn on his ballad “Fighting For Love.” Low key, but on key.
