Cataclysmic Commentary: Audience Participation

It used to be that tenor sax trios were the final test of a musician’s worth; nowadays they seem as omnipresent as versions of “Giant Steps.” Ben Cohen brings his big and bold tenor to join with Eli Wallace/p and Dave Miller/dr for a collection of freely improvised ricochet shootings. Flailing drums and screeching reeds are felt as well as heard on “Surprise Kitten” through the cataclysmic “There’s Junk Mail & Terrorism.” Eerie harmonics are produced on ”Ode To Ella” with long tones floating over the tensile “Why Am I Not A Painter.” Cohen gasps to Wallace’s spaces on the stark “Crowded in Solitude” while he puffs to Miller’s crashes on “The Last Time You Used a Real Map.” Is there a transcription for this?
