Badi Assad/v-g, Roy Rogers/voc-g and Carlos Reyes/vi-harp-b lead a vibrant band swith Jim Pugh/key-Kevin Harye/dr and some guests for ten exciting and enticing originals.
Assad has a passionate and sensuous voice, and it works well with the dancing harp on the dramatic “Blues for Brazil” while she sizzles on the seductive “Still Livin’ On A Memory” and oozes on the alluring “Back Along the Way.” Reyes’ harp is graceful on a tropical “Desires” and the team gives off a gypsy spirit with his violin on “Love Broken.” Some 70s-ish moods are produced on a folksy “God Prayed it. Rogers adds some earthy vocals as he teams with Pugh’s organ on the peppy “Lost Again In You” and delivers percussive mood to “Back to Havana.” The sparks fly on this one.
