Guitarist Denny Jiosa delivers a mix of jazz, world and smooth grooves on this easy to please album. He teams up with Kenny Zarider/key, Keith Kenyon/b, Raymond Massey/dr, Glen Caruba/perc and a collection of guests for peppy salsa pieces like “Fumarlo Bebe” as well as the castanet table dance of the romantic “Backroads” and glistening “From the Fire.” Some soul moods come with the wacka wooka rhythms of “Abre La Puerta” that includes some scintillating percussion, which continues on thorugh the slithering “Freedom Tower.” More acoustic moments are romantic and sensuous as on the soft and gentle “Missing You” while Jiosa gets you moving on the funky “Embracing the Fire.” Hip sounds from the Latin Quarter.
