Celebrating renewed spirits in America, Big Band leader Elliot Deutsch celebrates our country with five songs reflecting our hope in the country that shines on a hill. The opening “America, The Beautiful” is warm, bold and confident, while Trump-era tites like “Fake News” and “Repeal and Replace” are funky boppers and confident rockers respectively, with swinging solos by Micke Rocha/tp and Will Brahm/g catching the spirit. Dan Kaneyuki/as alto struts through the swinging “The Great Wll” and trombonist Bob McChesney” floats over drummer Greg Sadler’s brushes on a rich “Pink Sunset (Over Gray Skies).” Nothing here needs repealing and replacing!
