Vocalist Toft Olsen has a relaxed Barry Manilow-toned delivery, teaming with Heine Hansen/p, Morten Lund/dr and Thomas Vang/b for an intimate collection of standards. Many of the tunes are associated with Frank Sinatra, as Olsen does a good job describing the scene on “September in the Rain” and does a nice lonely hearts on “All the Way.” He’s soft and relaxed during “That’s All” and “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye” and gets harrowing with Vang on a shadowed “’Round Midnight.” While he’s a hip bopper of the title track is wonderful, his closing duet with Hansen on “As Time Goes By” is as a saloon piece as Ol’ Blue Eyes ever did.
