The vocal trio Nobody’s Girl consists of BettySoo, Grace Pettis and Rebecca Loebe, and they take turns going in lead and background harmony. They’re backed by a hard rocking team of JJ Johnson/dr, Michael Ramos/key, Glenn Fukunaga/b and David Grissom/g, sounding like a 70s country rock band on “What’ll I Do” and stomping out the Blondie punk anthem “Call Me.” Some Nashville twang has Pettis wistful on “Bluebonnets” and the team is funky for Loebe on “Queen City’ BettySoo sounds indie on the title track and the ladies are earnest on the more acoustic “Riding Out the Storm.” Heavy on the backbeat and harmonic pleasures.
