Matty T. Wall plays a rocking 70s styled guitar along with his juke jointed voice joiined with a core team of Ric Whittle/dr, Stephen Walker/b and a collection of guests including Gordon Cant/key and Steve Searle/horns. Wall’s metal strings work well with Cant on the two step boogies like “Sliderride” and the riffing title track while he sears through Walker’s bass lines on “Walk Out the Door” and the rollicking “Shake It.” Wall is able to show a tender side, going heartfel with Jonas Peterson’s strings on the anthem “”Change is Gonna Come” whle his acoustic “Leave it All Behind” is a back porch casual delight. Most of the time, though, its rocking the joint as on a grungy “Sophie’s Strut” and a slick “Something Beautiful.” Six strings that sting.
