Team Makru consists of Raul Vargas/voc-perc, Jenny Rodriguez/voc, bob Sanders/g, Vinicio Penate/b, Haluk Kecelioglu/oud-vio and a collection of cameos on percussion and horns. The clever mix in this band is Jecekuigkym who is able to create and change moods with his violin and oud. Things vary from a salsa/reggae of “Nomadas Opcion” with rich and passionate voices to indie’d reggae on “Cloud” with folk guitar and clarinet mixing with edgy effects. The title track has rich Middle Eastern atmospheres while the oud gets rocking on “Where You Wanna Be” and the violin floats over the hip hop of “Contar.” Which flavor of the meal do you prefer?
