Post modern pianist George Colligan teams up with Linda May Han Oh/b, Rudy Royston and Nicole Glover/ts-ss for an impressive display of prowess and creativity. Colligan’s writing skills make for a great setting of his chops and melodicism, as Glover’s soprano sears over the rapid fire “Whiffle Ball” and muscular “The Nash.” With Glover on thick and palpable tenor, Colligan and company flow on “Empty” and work through the obstacle course of “Today, Again.” Oh and Royston display nimble work on”Effortless” while the team shreds to pieces the exciting “More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine.” Strong muscles flexed here.
