B3er Akiko Tsuruga gets down and bluesy on this vintage organ trio disc with LA stalwarts Jeff Hamilton/dr and Graham Dechter/g. The team shuffles with delight on the hip title track and can boogaloo with the best during “Face to Face” as Tsuruga pulls out the stops and sounds like a mix of church, Dodger Stadium and the local skating rink on a snappy “The Lady is A Tramp.” Dechter is his Wes Best on “Frame For The Blues” and clean as a whistle on the lyrical “Pretty Please” while Hamilton goes soft on “You Don’t Know What Love Is” and snaps everyone to attention on “Peachie.” Classic sounds.
