The collective group #Bloomerangs mixes 22 artists from places as diverse as the US, Uruguay and Argentina, in order to create a global view of jazz for the new millennium. Most consistent in the rotating batting order are drummer Tato Bolognini and bassist Marco Messina, keeping a foundation for the horn laden soul jazz of “Eden Pine Trees” and “Purple” while delivering latin moods with percussionist Luis Ravizza on “Man B.”A reggae-ish “Young Dads” features a nice guitar line by Rodrigo Cotelo and some synth soul is dominant on “Pensive” and “Low Ride.” While politics may separate nations, funky blues seems to bind them together.
