Cowbell: Haunted Heart

Co-lead by Jack Sandham/voc-g-key and Wednesday Lyle/voc-dr-perc, Cowbell mixes and matches sounds and moods to range from rockabilly to punk with a dash or R&B. Shades of Link Wray bring out the 50s on the title track and “Nothing But Trouble” and dashes of punk and 70s New Wave are revisited as some echoey guitar and vocals bring thoughts of Mink DeVille on “Something’s Gotta Give” and Blondie punk and catchy choruses dominate on “Downlow.” Country blues and John Lee Hooker get twanging on “Doom Train” while the rural back porch gets some delta pickings on “Neon Blue.”  King Creole lick on “None of Your Business” and Graham Parker attitudes on “New Kinda Love” make ;you think the singer’s got a snarl on his lips on delivery. Lots of attitude and leather jackets.
