Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo continues to build up an impressive catalogue of gorgeous sounds from his home country. This time around he mixes and matches electric and acoustic guitars in solo, duo and trio settings with Sidiel Vieira/b and Thiago Rabello/dr. Of the former, Lubambo sounds harp-like on the breezy drapery of “Contrato De Separacao” and gently folksy on “Natures Beauty” and Vieira comes in for a lovely pax de deux on the graceful “Luisa (For My Daughter).” The trio does some graceful work with the leader on classical guitar with rapid fingers dancing on “Estamos Ai” and the pastoral “Gostoso Demais.” Lubambo also plugs in his amp for a funky “Dippermouth” and gets into a pulsating groove with the team on “New Slash Blues.” This gentleman is a living example of how a guitar is supposed to sound.
