The California-based group The Holdup creates a mix of reggae and synth hip hop on this collection of 16 quick in and out tunes. Lead by vocalist and composer Michael Garmany, the band listing is not present on the liner notes, but there are some 60s keyboards on “Way To High” and “Right Away” as well as some synth grooves on ”This Ain’t Love” Poppish guitar pulses dominate the indie sounding “Neighborhood” and title track while most of the themes are based on Millennial angst. The belly ain’t quite full yet here.
