Lawrence Blatt: Longitudes & Latitudes

Acoustic guitarist Lawrence Blatt takes you on a variety of excursions as he teams up with sensitive accompaniment on his compositions that are subtitled by their geographic position. He has a gentle and patient approach, going solo on “The Places Left Behind” on guitar and “Over The Rainbow” having his ukulele taking you to Lawrence, Kansas. There are delicate accompaniments with bassist Sam Bevan and various guitars, percussion and woodwinds on “IMA” and “A Place In Your Heart” while things get more chamber-themed with clarinet, violin and rhythm on “Flying Over Ellis Island.” The whole album has a cozy by the fireplace attitude, no matter where you’re stationed.
