2 Ton Bridge: 2 Ton Bridge

A mix of old fashioned blue grass teams up with  modern indie and raw tones on this album by the band 2 Ton Bridge. Alexander Wright sings and plays a ton of strings, Eric Heywood plays pedal steels and other strings and bass, Joachim Cooder is the drummer, Dylan Cooper plays bass and then you’ve got lots of guests that bring in accordion, fiddle, harmonica and other gadgets.

Bluegrass voices with raw guitar is predominant on much of the material such as “Waterman Town” and the stark story “I’m A Hoot Own.” Harrowing and dark moods are  provided during “Post Hole Digger” and “Nothing But Time, “ while with acoustic guitar, a tad of indie rock permeates “She’s So Steady.” Basic blues are on the foreboding “Parchman Prison Clay” and long dark shadows are cast on “Last Winter.” Still country, but a different neighborhood.
