Here’s a guy that puts some fun back into the country, rock and blues genre. Travis Green has a BBQ Beans of a voice, teaming up with Kid Anderson/g, Randy Bermudes/b, Jason Hansen/dr, Jim Pugh/key and Nancy Wright/sax on his 10 originals. Anderson almost steals the show as he boogies to Green’s easy twang on the title track and rocks with a shuffle on “Keep You Off My Mind.” There’s some bluesy B3ing on “The Only Love” and Green saunters into the honky tonk during “Don’t Forget.” Nancy Wright’s tenor makes things fun on “Caroline,” and Green is comfortable both here and when he gets more ominous as he tells a foreboding story on “Damage Done.” Would like to see this guy in concert!
