The UK based band Chavo consists of Jimmy O’Brien/key-mand-voc, John Greswell/mand-voc, Garo Nahoulsakian/g, Stefan Melzak/dr and Andrew Mitchell/perc. Previously they had recorded music in Roman, Serbian or Greek, but this time they focus on the English language. Oh, you still get frenetic Mediterranean sounds like “ Greek Disco” or “Green Mamba,” but you also get parts of Caribbean indie rock with “First notes of a Contraband” and “Misery.” The vocals are earnest and also on the hipster side, but the feel is both tongue in cheek and party oriented.
