Professor Louie and the Crowmatix: Music  From Hurley Mountain

You get a lot of roots music here delivered by Professor Louie, who sings and plays just about anything with keys along with Miss Marie/voc/perc-p, Frank Campbell/b, Gary Burke/dr, John Platania/g, Josh Colow/g and Larry Packer/vio. Sounds akin to a hurdy gurdy pop up on the folksy “Golden Morning” while the organ comes to the campfire on “Angel Band.” Louie’s piano rollicks on “Let’s Go Home” and traditional pieces like “Hurley Mountain Road” and “Four Farmers” mix sounds like The Band with indie material. You even get a snippet of a guy talking about his tractor in these here parts, so if you’re wearing your overalls, you’re gonna feel right at home ‘tchere.
