Camila Meza sings in English and Spanish, plays a romantic guitar, and even composes the material here and a personal album that mixes Latin, jazz and indie folk. The team of Shai Maestro/key, Matt Penman/b, Kendrick Scott/dr, Bashiri Johnson/perc and Jody Redhage/cel create intimate and cozy mods as Meza’s sweetly wispy voices bounces in Spanish on “Para Volar.” She delivers a dreamy impressionistic “Emerald” with Redhage’s cello and does a glowing duet with Sachal Vasandani on”Away.” Indie pop sounds come up with electric guitars on ”Greenfinch and Linnet Bird” while a restless Brazilian jazz pulse makes for an alluring “Amazon Farewell.” Meza draws you in with her sincerity and lack of guile making you feel comfy by the fire on simple but not simplistic pieces like ”Little Person.” A real charmer.
