GETTING A KLUGH…Peter White: Groovin’

Guitarist Peter White literally picks up where smooth guitarist Earl Klugh left off on this interpretation of pop and rock pieces. He’s got a clean approach to the strings, and his solos sound fresh and uncluttered. There are some oohing background vocals on “How Long” with a hip tenor sax, while he gets rockfish on a synth grooved “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” The moods of “Groovin’ “ and ”Do I Do” are upbeat and cheery, while he gets tender on “Dock of the Bay” and the richly gentle read of “Here, There and Everywhere.” Serene strings.
