I’m really not sure if this album is earnest or tongue in cheek. Karim Nagi mixes sounds of the Middle East with spoken messages ranging from politics to culture on this album. There are sounds like a dico party with a Wolfman Jack styled voice on “Take A Ride…” while chants and percussion collide on “Oriental Magic Carpet.” Theres a bit of rap and National Geographic with reeds and percussion on “Everyon Dabke while crowd noises sound like a festival in Tahrir Square on ”Yalla Yalla.” Is this guy delivering a self parody or an earnest introduction?
