Kenyon Carter plays tenor and soprano on this easy on the ears collection of originals. The core team of Tyrone Jackson/key, Tim Aucoin/b, John David/dr deliver upbeat and optimistic sounds as on the R&B ish Here We Go” and “Lights Down Low” with Carter’s warm tenor. Guitarist Chuck Loeb adds some hip bop to a couple takes of the infectious “ Game On” while Billy Wilkie displays soft hands on the acoustic guilar on the folksy “Going Home.” A hip horn section makes you feel like you’re on a Stevie Wonder session on the funky “Jammin’ On Jupiter” and Earth Wind and Fire isn’t far away as Carter’s soprano sears through “Moving Forward.” A smile producing session.
