Guitarist David Correa delivers a suave and lithe session with clean lines and traditional world rhythms on this accessible and warm disc. He’s accompanited by Aaron Germain-Ruben Ramos-Marco Renteria/b, Surya Prakasha/dr, Johnny Sandoval/perc and a collection of cameo artists on other instruments. His sound and delivery is reminiscent of Ottmar Liebert in that it is highly lyrical, genteel and fragrantly Latin. Pieces such as “Hacienda” and “Veracruzana” mix traditional melodies with warm grooves, while hints of Middle Eastern moods rise like a full moon on “Milagro” and “Painted Desert.” His flamenco chops are on excellent display on “Sedona” and soft hands caress the strings on “Pico De Gallo.” Cool and refreshing like a chilled Vignette.
