Here’s a guy that puts a bit of joy into the smooth jazz field; Sha Shaty plays various saxes with a team of Steve Oliver/g-b-prog and Sonny B/dr along with in and out guests such as Will Donato/sax-section, Gary Stanionis/perc and Usay Kawlu/voc. Upbeat R&B-ish tunes such as “Dream Ride” and the bluesy “Late On 91” keepthe toes tapping, while a Supertramp nod goes to the title track. Dreamy romance and Kenny G leaning soprano sax sounds are on “Song of Hope” and “A Million Miles,” and a clever Indian chant leads to a droning “Mumbai.” Happy, peppy and light on the ears.
