GUITAR WORKSHOP! Jimmy McIntosh: And…

Guitar fans unite! Here’s a perfect disc to show what happens when inspired six stringers get together  with each other and their fellow artisans. Jimmy McIntosh does a mix and match with various pickers, blowers, hitters and touchers in a myriad of moods. With Ronnie Wood, he gets into the thick delta on “Slow Blues” for a delicious duet, while with John Scofield, Ivan Neville/org, John Humphrey/b and Toss Panos/dr he grooves to a Bo Diddley beat on “Letsco.” A couple tracks with Mike Stern has some jazzy rock on “Back2Cali” and spacey jazz on “PM Blues” which makes for a wonderful sweet and spicy mix of flavors. Tenor saxist Albert Wing comes into a quintet  setting with Wood returning on a sweet ballad n “I Gotta See” and the jam is sweet with Wood and Jimmy closing out on a “Fast Blues” duet. I don’t know what you’re looking for in a guitar, but the Fenders and Gibsons are having a swinging date here.
