Euforquestra: Fire

Wanna know where finger snapping soul went after Curtis Mayfield and Tower of Power? I think they transported into the band Euforquestra, as the mix of horns, funky back beat and earthy vocals will get you on the dance floor before the Boogie Night is over. The basic unit of Craig Babineau/dr, Adam Grosso/b, Mike Tallman/g-voc, Matt Writght/key-voc and Ryan Jeter-Austin Zaletel/sax is supplemented with Gabriel Mervine’s trumpet, Scott Parker Masts percussion and Kim Dawson’s vocals with material ranging from a San Francisco souled “The Price is Right” to a dancing and riffing sax section on “Fire.” The transistor radio intro to “Instant Coffee” shows the bands allegiance to pre disco discotheque tunes, while calypso pieces such as “Moment #1” and reggae rocking “All the Light I Need” get  you on the flight to the Caribbean. Wacka Wooka guitars are riffing with more licks than a Tootsie Roll Pop, and a back beat boogaloo on “Take Me Dancing” will make you crave wide whale chords. Get ready to get up and get down!
