And tell me it was going to have jazz standards like Mingus’ “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat” and Coltrane’s “Alabama” as well as Joe Zawinul’s “In A Silent Way.” And dare me to believe he’d do covers of Santana’s “Samba Pa Ti” or “Ooh Child.” GO AHEAD-MAKE MY DAY. He does it, and does it all and more with a sensitive, delicate and lyrical touch that is going to make your dentures fall out. He uses these themes as more as starting for deep ruminations.
