THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN’…From Another World: A Tribute to Bob Dylan

Sick of Bob Dylan tributes by wannabes? Burnt out by Dylan’s latest voice? WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THIS ALBUM! You’re going to think life has meaning again!

What you’ve got here is musicians and vocalists from various parts of the world using their own folk sounds to  “interpret” the music of Bob Zimmerman from Duluth, Minnesota. To go through every song would be redundant, but just to whet your palate, just think about a take of “All Along the Watchtower” with a fistful of percussion and a traditional vocalist that’s right out of a Cuban Villabe village. The Kocani Orkestar from Macedonia brags in brass with a manic “Rainy Day Woman #12 & 35”, while flutes, tablas and strings deliver a turmeric spicy “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Interested yet? An a capella version of “With God On Our Side” by Bhutanese vocalist “Lhamo Dukpa” will do the trick. This thing is more than a gimmick-it’s a stroke of genius. If only it came with take out!
