This guy’s only seventeen years old? I have corns that old! He creates a classic B3 trio session with Derek DiCenzo/g and Reggie Jackson/dr that will make you put this in your collection next to Joey D and Jimmy Smith. He even opens up with a Smith Bunsen burner on “Root Down” before bopping through his own “Zig Zag” and bluesy “Shadows.” A take of The Beatles’ “Come Together” is a ringer of a beaut, with some nice guitar wailing by DiCenzo while a funky take of the classic “The World Is A Ghetto” lurks around the neighborhood like a cop on patrol. Even “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” gets a sandblast, with a mix of military march and churchified wailing. Check this guy out, and pop into overdrive!
