Originally released as a holiday album last year, On This Winter’s Night is the dvd presentation of the trios performance at the Nashville Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The 40 piece orchestra backs up the trio that actually creates a pretty cozy and homey attitude on pieces such as “Let it Snow” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” As with most Christmas concerts, the emphasis either leans toward the actual Nativity or mistletoe. While this one emphasizes the latter, an impressive “Silent Night (Lord of My Life)” hits the Reason for the season just right. Of course, you’ve got great vocal harmonies between Scott, Kelley and Haywood, and they look like they’re ready to open up the Christmas Eve Stockings. Fun with the egg nog!
