Gipsy Kings: Savor Flamenco

OK, everyone out there; raise your hands if you DON’T like the Gipsy Kings. My point exactly. They just do it right every time, and after a quarter of a century, they have it down to a science. This latest album has a new single “Samba Samba” as well as a couple instrumentals, the cooking “Tiempo Del Sol” and the seductive “Savor Flamenco.” Some material is revisited, such as “Me Voy,” but so what? They breath new life into it, and the exciting percussion on “Corazon,” pair of versions of “Sueno” (one heartfelt, the other for dancing) and the lusty vocals make this a pleasure on every level. Besides, as Sonny Rollins once said, an album is essentially an invitation to a concert, so take this one in, and go see these guys at an outdoor fest!
