FESTIVE LADIES!!! Alex Pangman: Have a Little Fun, Le Percolateur: Le Percolateur

Ya wanna go out and have a good time? Don’t want to answer all of the questions about the meaning of life, but just forget the daily troubles for a while? Here are a couple of records to get you through!

Alex Pangman’s got a voice that can growl like a lion or purr like a kitten on this fun and frantic collection of Tin Pan Alley songs tuned to the Depression era attitude. A hard swinging two stepping band that includes Budky Pizzarelli’s incessant rhythm guitar along with Drew Jurecka/vio, Ross woolridge/ts-cl and Brigham Phillips has the sassy lassy rip like a mama bear through the camp site on “Some of These days” and “Are You having Any Fun.” The way she woos regret on the “It Felt So Good To Be Bad” you might get a bit hot under the collar, while she gets you back into the party mood with a spry “Undecided.” The solos by the lead instrumentalists will get you off your chair and dancing with your  shoe off in 8 bars. YAHOO!

Le Percolateur is a five piece band with Candace Washburn handling the vocals along with a Semi-Hot Club Of France styled team of Marielle de Rocca-Serra/vio, Stacy McMichael/b, Sam Random and Kevin Rush/g and a series of guest reed and rhythm soloists. Hot stomping “Bad Crazy Day” and “Waiting for the End of the World” feature Washburn’s earthy delivery awhile the team cooks on Bunsen burners on”Dancing in the Kitchen” and “Goin’ Out.”  Perfect music for steppin’ out with your babe.
