Vocalist Chloe Brisson glides through a number of standards backed by an A team of Angelenos, with Fred Haas/sax-arr, Bill Mays/p, Marvin Stamm/tp, Ben Williams/tb, Matt Wilson/dr and Martin Wind/b. The band sounds as slick as greased lightning on tunes like “Send For Me” and “How High The Moon” while Brisson’s feathery voice sounds best on the tender ballads like “I Fall In Love Too Easily” and “Someone To Watch Over Me.” She has a nice diction, as on “How High The Moon,” but misses a point for lack of sass. A sweetheart, who maybe just needs a few bumps in the road to get her edge up.
