ANOTHER WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS EDITION!!!

MY OPINION, BUT…
Why Christmas is such a great season:
1) It’s
hard not to get excited about celebrating the coming of God in
the flesh to die for our sins, and to rule heaven and earth through all
eternity.
2) Love the wise men coming from Babylon and following the star.
3) All the
events of Jesus’ birth prove the validity of the Bible, with
fulfilled prophecies like Jesus being born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2),
born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), the ensuing fling to Egypt (Hosea
11:1), his being God in the flesh (Isaiah 9:6) and the slaughter of
innocents (Jeremiah 31:15).
4) Anyone out there NOT love Handel’s “Messiah”?
5) Singing
Christmas Carols, especially ones like “Hark The Herald
Angels Sing” and “Joy To The World.”
6) Singing
the chorus to “Angels We Have Heard On High” in one long
breath. “Gllllooooooooooooooooria in excelsis deo” Especially
when you
pronounce it in is true latin vernacular.
7) Decorating
the house and Christmas tree with some of the most
gloriously tacky things on earth
8) Candles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9) Lights! Lights and more lights!
10) Jimmy Stewart
11) Christmas
cds. Nat, Bing, Frank, Elvis and all the others from
banjos to barking dogs.
12) Nativity
scenes. We have about 20. Got Jesus, Joseph and Mary
looking Mexican, Chinese, African, Cambodian, Peruvian, German, even
Jewish (what a concept!)
14) Figuring
out whom to give gifts to. (Who is out there that I do not like that I
need
to bless?)
15) The coziness of the weather that makes you reflect on your own life.
16) Christmas
movies! Charlie Brown Christmas! Alistair Sims! Mr.
Magoo! Chopping the head off of the Christmas goose in a Chinese
restaurant! Barbara Stanwick! Bing, Fred, Danny!
17) Putting eggnog in everything!
18) Putting red and green dye in everything like waffles, pancakes….
19) Church decorations, kids programs at church
20) Sleigh bells for percussion!
21) A holiday
celebrating peace on earth and good will toward men with
whom He is pleased all over the world.
22) Greeting everyone with “Merry Christmas”…so…
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
