There’s a conversational and spark flying duo with pianist Albert Bover on “Solar” before the rest of the quartet joins in for a glorious “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Y our Life” and get nifty on Bobby Hutcherson’s “Little B’s Poem”. In a pair of drummerless trio formats, Barry bounces to “You Know I Care” and his own “Victoria” while with added drum son a 1999 TV show, he dazzles on a sleek “Seven Steps To Heaven” and goes bel canto on “My Foolish Heart.” The Big Band tunes stretch out on the opus of “Samba Dees Codda Do It” and sear through a swinging “CottonTail”.
